Autumn and Winter are times of going inward to one's self, becoming introspective, a time for slowing down, especially during the Winter months. It is especially hard to do this when we are busy with holiday shopping and preparations. Here are some "must have" essential oils to include in your on the go kits.
1. Neroli/Petigrain - this is a great oil for inhalers as well as diffusers. It has an affinity for the skin and is great in body butters and face creams to moisturize and prevent dry skin during the colder months.
2. Bay Laurel - an excellent oil for the respiratory tract, stimulates immunity, for dry nasal passages, great for stimulating the lymph system; it also clears the mind.
3. Eucalyptus radiata - milder than its cousin Eucalyptus globus, which makes it a great choice for children, asthmatics and the elderly especially good for respiratory issues, congestion, coughs, etc. This oil expands and deepens the breath, as well as supports immunity.
4. Lavender - helps to relax, the "mother" of all essential oils, great for skin rashes, calming to the mind, helps all other oils to syngerize well together, never leave home without it. Great choice for children.
5. Pine - has a drying quality - great for mucus and congestion. This is a good one to diffuse at home.
6. Roman chamomile - Use in place of tea tree oil, great anti-microbial as well as very calming and grounding.
