Not all essential oils are created equally. I learned that the hard way. The first couple of years I used essential oils, I bought them from the supermarkets. Didn't know anything about oils other than I liked the smell of them. I wasn't aware of all the ways they could benefit and enhance my life. It wasn't until a friend introduced me to Young Living and their Seed to Seal promise that I started understanding just how important the ingredients are in a bottle of essential oil. Is the oil distilled from 100% plant matter? Or were there additives? How was the oil extracted? Through steam distillation or were there petrochemicals involved. Was it made by nature or mass produced in a lab? Is it mainly synthetics with one or two compounds of the plant added responsible for giving it the aroma the oil is known for? Peppermint is a good example of this. There are basically four constituents that give the pepperment oil its amazing fragrance. These constituents can be mass produced in a lab and mixed with synthetic oil but that's NOT true peppermint oil. You aren't going to have the same breadth of action using that as you would using 100% peppermint oil distilled from 100% peppermint plant. You will have a smell good oil (labeled as therapeutic grade because there are no standards preventing this kind of labeling) but beyond smelling good, it will serve no other purpose. Think of it kind of like buying your milk directly from the dairy farmer. Young Living is the only company I have found that owns their own farms all over the world and partners with farms who have agreed to meet the Young Living farming standard and submit to random third party testing of their soils. Young Living guarantees the quality of their seed and they distill their own oils directly on the farms. They package the oil and mail it directly to me. You will not find the word "organic" on their bottles. Their standards far exceed the organic practices allowd by the FDA. They truly are unadulterated, therapeutic grade, as close to nature as the process allows essential oils. This is the Young Living difference and why Young Living is my choice for myself and my family.
